Make this festive Peppermint Espresso Martini using simple steps. This coffee cocktail blends rich espresso, coffee liqueur, and cool peppermint, making it a perfect winter nightcap or holiday party drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso, cooled
  • 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur (like Kahlua)
  • 0.25 oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 0.5 oz Simple Syrup (or substitute with Peppermint Syrup)
  • Ice
  • Garnish: Crushed candy cane rim or three coffee beans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the rim: Pour a small amount of simple syrup onto a small plate. On a second plate, spread crushed candy canes. Dip the rim of your chilled martini glass first into the simple syrup, then into the crushed candy canes. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine ingredients: Add the vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, peppermint schnapps, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake well: Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for about 15 to 20 seconds until the shaker is very cold. This creates the signature foam.
  4. Strain and serve: Double strain the mixture into your prepared, rimmed martini glass.
  5. Garnish: Place three coffee beans on top of the foam for a classic presentation, or add a small piece of peppermint candy.

Notes

  • For a richer, chocolate peppermint flavor, substitute 0.25 oz of the simple syrup with chocolate syrup.
  • If you do not have peppermint schnapps, use 0.5 oz of plain simple syrup and 3-4 drops of high-quality peppermint extract.
  • Use cold brew concentrate if you cannot brew fresh espresso; ensure it is strong.
