Create elegant, crowd-pleasing appetizer bites using flaky puff pastry, creamy goat cheese, and a sweet honey drizzle, finished with fresh thyme. This recipe offers a simple, sophisticated sweet and savory snack perfect for entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 ounces soft goat cheese, chilled
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface. Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet. Cut the pastry into 12 equal squares.
  3. Place the pastry squares onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the edges of each square lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  4. Place a small spoonful (about 1 teaspoon) of chilled goat cheese in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  6. Remove the bites from the oven and let them cool slightly on the baking sheet for 2 minutes.
  7. Drizzle the warm honey evenly over the tops of the baked bites.
  8. Sprinkle the fresh thyme leaves and a small pinch of black pepper over the honey.
  9. Serve these party finger foods warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use hot honey instead of regular honey.
  • If you want a firmer base, you can lightly press down the center of the pastry squares before adding the cheese.
  • You can assemble the pastry and cheese ahead of time; keep them chilled on the baking sheet until ready to bake.
