Make this creamy, briny dip inspired by the classic dirty martini. It requires no cooking and comes together quickly, making it a perfect savory appetizer for parties or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 8 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped pimento-stuffed green olives
  • 1/2 cup olive brine (from the olive jar)
  • 2 ounces gin (optional, for authentic flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Extra chopped olives and olive oil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese, blue cheese, sour cream, chopped olives, olive brine, gin (if using), and garlic powder into a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Use an electric mixer or a sturdy spoon to combine all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Taste the dip and add salt and pepper as needed. Remember the olives and brine are salty.
  4. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Before serving, garnish the top with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of extra chopped olives.
  7. Serve cold with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the gin and consider adding 1 teaspoon of white wine vinegar for a slight tang.
  • You can make this dip up to 2 days ahead of time; store it covered in the refrigerator.
  • Serve this dip in a large martini glass for a presentation that matches the theme.
