Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 (6.5 ounce) can minced clams, drained well
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Pinch of black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives or green onion tops (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl.
Add the drained minced clams, sour cream, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to the bowl.
Use a hand mixer or a sturdy spoon to combine all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated. Mix until no lumps of cream cheese remain.
Taste the dip and adjust seasonings if needed.
Cover the bowl and chill the clam dip in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Chilling allows the flavors to blend.
Garnish with fresh chives or green onion tops just before serving.
Serve your cold appetizer dip with potato chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
Make sure you drain the canned clams thoroughly; excess liquid will make your dip watery.
For a slightly tangy and savory kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of hot sauce to the mixture.
You can prepare this dip up to 24 hours in advance. Keep it covered in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
