Prepare tender, juicy steak bites effortlessly in your slow cooker. This simple recipe uses sirloin steak and a rich garlic butter sauce, making it a perfect set it and forget it meal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into your slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Toss to coat the pieces evenly.
  3. Pour the beef broth over the steak.
  4. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, or on high for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the steak is tender.
  5. About 15 minutes before serving, stir in the butter pieces and minced garlic. Let the butter melt and create a sauce.
  6. Stir gently until the butter is fully incorporated into a garlic butter sauce.
  7. Stir in the fresh parsley just before serving.
  8. Serve the crockpot steak bites over mashed potatoes or rice for a complete dinner.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the steak near the end of cooking and let the liquid simmer on high with a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water).
  • This recipe works well with other cuts like chuck roast, cut into cubes.
