Prepare this easy Crock Pot Angel Chicken for a comforting family dinner. Tender chicken breasts cook slowly in a rich, Italian-inspired creamy sauce, perfect for serving over angel hair pasta or rice on busy weeknights.

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (1 ounce) packet dry Italian dressing mix
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 ounces angel hair pasta, cooked according to package directions
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, Italian dressing mix, chicken broth, garlic powder, oregano, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Pour the soup mixture evenly over the chicken in the slow cooker.
  4. Place the cubes of cream cheese on top of the chicken and sauce mixture. Do not stir.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  6. Remove the chicken breasts and shred them using two forks.
  7. Stir the shredded chicken back into the sauce until everything is well combined and creamy.
  8. Serve the Crock Pot Angel Chicken immediately over cooked angel hair pasta. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a slightly thinner sauce, add an extra 1/4 cup of chicken broth during the cooking process.
  • If you do not have angel hair pasta, this dish works well served over rice or egg noodles.
  • You can sear the chicken breasts in a skillet for 2-3 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker to build deeper flavor.
