Make this bright red holiday margarita for a party or a single serving. It uses simple ratios and looks great with festive garnishes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Tequila Blanco
  • 1 oz Orange Liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • 1.5 oz Cranberry Juice (100% juice preferred)
  • 1 oz Pomegranate Juice
  • Optional: Coarse salt or sugar for rim
  • Garnish: Fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, rosemary sprig

Instructions

  1. If using a rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of your glass. Roll the rim in salt or sugar on a small plate.
  2. Combine tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, cranberry juice, and pomegranate juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake well until the shaker is very cold.
  4. Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, and a rosemary sprig for a festive look.
  6. For a pitcher: Multiply all liquid ingredients by the number of servings needed. Mix in a pitcher and chill. Shake or stir individual servings with ice before serving.

Notes

  • For a mocktail version, substitute the tequila and orange liqueur with 2 oz of sparkling water or non-alcoholic spirit alternative, and increase the cranberry and pomegranate juices slightly.
  • Use 100% juice for the best flavor and color.
  • This recipe works well for batch preparation; mix all liquids ahead of time and keep chilled. Add ice to individual glasses when serving.
